You Are My Strength
Glenda B. Schales
You are my strength,
You are my shield,
You are my help, my deliver'r.
You are my rock,
You are my hope,
You are my all, my redeemer.
You are my light,
You are my guide,
You are the song I am singing.
You are my smile,
You are my peace,
You are the joy of my living.
Ephesians 5:19 "Speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, making melody in your heart to the Lord."

He Will Provide
Have you ever prayed, and turned right around and read something that you really needed to hear? After speaking with the Lord rather earnestly, I opened my Bible, and part of my reading tonight just happened to be Psalm 116. I wanted to share it with you.
I love the Lord because He hears my voice and my prayer for mercy.
Because He bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!
Death wrapped its ropes around me; the terrors of the grave overtook me. I saw only trouble and sorrow.
Then I called on the name of the Lord: "Please, Lord, save me!"
How kind the Lord is! How good He is! So merciful, this God of ours!
The Lord protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death and He saved me.
Let my soul be at rest again, for the Lord has been good to me.
He has saved me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.
And so I walk in the Lord's presence as I live here on earth!
I believed in You, so I said, "I am deeply troubled, Lord."
In my anxiety I called out to you, "These people are all liars!"
What can I offer the Lord for all He has done for me?
I will lift up the cup of salvation and praise the Lord's name for saving me.
I will keep my promises to the Lord in the presence of all His people.
The Lord cares deeply when His loved ones die.
O Lord, I am Your servant; yes, I am Your servant, born into Your household; You have freed me from my chains.
I will offer You a sacrifice of thanksgiving and call on the name of the Lord.
I will fulfill my vows to the Lord in the presence of all His people--
in the house of the Lord in the heart of Jerusalem.
Praise the Lord!
It helped me so much just to be reminded that God cares, and that in the decisions we are trying to make, He will guide us if we will just let Him. "He hears my voice"....."I walk in the Lord's presence"....."Praise the Lord!"
My friends, I ask that you will pray that the Lord will give me clear guidance, and that I will find courage and encouragement. I thank you, and return the favor.

Singin' on Sunday v. 5
My Father's Voice
M. W. Bassford
I read the Word of God,
and then at once rejoice,
For when I listen to its call,
I hear my Father's voice.
Its ev'ry line repeats
His will decreed above,
And ev'ry word makes evident
His wisdom, might, and love.
Within its least of themes
and in its smallest part,
I find the fire to light again
His worship in my heart.
Ephesians 5:19 "Speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, making melody in your heart to the Lord."

Oh! What A Time
Lucy Matthews
Oh my Lord, what a time, mm-hmm
Oh my Lord, what a time
From this old world we'll flee
To live eternally
Oh, my Lord what a time
In that fair land there will be no more night
No sun or moon, for the Lamb of God is light
It's good to know that He's prepared a way
To a bright and endless day
From this old world (from this old world we'll flee)
We're gonna live (to live eternally)
With Christ (with Christ our blessed Lord)
In a home on high (in a heavenly home on high)
We'll shout and sing
We'll walk and talk
We'll shout and sing
We'll walk and talk
We'll shout and praise His name
Every day (every day will be the same)
Oh my Lord, My burden bearer,
My help in trouble, My joy in sorrow,
My light in darkness, My sword and shield
Oh my Lord, what a time

Singin' on Sunday v.1
I wanted to share some of my favorite songs with you, those that comfort, inspire, and uplift me, so I decided to make it a weekly feature. I hope you enjoy!
Sing Me A Song About Jesus
G.T. Speer
Sing me a song about Jesus,
Sing me a song about His love,
Sing with all your might, Ev'ry day and night,
Make the hallelujahs roll;
Sing out the blessed old story,
Tell how he gave the victory,
Dying on a tree, All for you and me,
How He came and made me whole.
Sing me a song about Jesus,
Sing me a song about His love,
Sing with all your might, Ev'ry day and night,
If the way is bright or dim;
Sing me a song about Jesus,
Sing me a song about His love,
Sing about His grace, Till you see His face,
Sing me a song about Him.
Jesus the wonderful Savior,
Guides me along the rugged way,
Never lets me fall, Hears my feeble call,
Makes the way so bright for me;
I will forever adore Him,
I will forever sing His praise,
He will take me home, Never more to roam,
Then His loving face I'll see.
Sing me a song about Jesus,
Sing me a song about His love,
Sing with all your might, Ev'ry day and night,
If the way is bright or dim;
Sing me a song about Jesus,
Sing me a song about His love,
Sing about His grace, Till you see His face,
Sing me a song about Him.

He Gives Songs In The Night
"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." ~Matthew 11:28-30
"...[He] gives songs in the night" ~Job 34:10
In our Monday night ladies' Bible class, we have been looking at Lea Fowler's book Strength in Times of Trouble. Last night's lesson was titled "He Gives Songs in the Night." In one paragraph she says, "That scripture has always bothered me. I had many times deliberately tried to think of songs in the night. I hadn't understood that first part - He gives you songs - He, God, gives you songs. It is not-'I strive to sing songs in the night.' " In another part, she says, "I had tried to sing for joy when I was joyful - but we sing for joy when we are scared, or hurting, or weak and have found relief."
I completely understood the concept of this. I knew that when I was feeling down or discouraged, a song of praise would come to my lips, and it would inevitably make me feel better. But I had never put the scripture with the concept. (Makes you look again at 2 Peter 1:3, doesn't it?) Then, last night, I had the opportunity to experience it once again.
It was "one of those nights." I had to get up 4 times in as many hours with one or another of the kiddos. I was tired. The baby had been whiny and clingy all day. When I got up with her to feed her, I just felt so overwhelmed. I just wanted to sleep. Then the song came to me "Ye that labor and are heavy laden lean upon your dear Lord's breast, Ye that labor and are heavy laden come and I will give you rest." And I started to feel better. I wasn't really less tired, but I knew that I could handle it. That my Heavenly Father would take care of me just as surely as I was taking care of my own child right that very minute. How sweet to know that He is always there. And how sweet to know He gives us songs in the night.
Loving Father, who watches over me with Your mighty Hand, thank you so much for the blessing of being able to call you Father. I know that You are always with me, and that You will comfort and uplift me just as I would my own child. Thank you for the songs of praise and encouragement you inspired others to compose so that when I am down, You can bring them to my rememberance and give me songs in the night. In my dear Saviour's name, Amen.

Praise Him! Praise Him!
Psalm 113:3 "From the rising of the sun to its going down The Lord's name is to be praised."
Since my baby is sick and I didn't get to attend worship services this morning, I wanted to spend some time today thinking about and praising God. What hasn't He done for us? Even in less than ideal circumstances, His children are always cared and provided for. He uses every situation that we go through to bring us closer to Him, if we will let Him. So, today, maybe you will join me and the Psalmist in just giving some praise to God.
Psalm 8:1 "O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens."
Psalm 9:1-2 "I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High."
Psalm 66:1-4 "Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honor of His name; Make His praise glorious. Say to God, 'How awesome are Your works!Through the greatness of Your power Your enemies shall submit themselves to You. All the earth shall worship You And sing praises to You; They shall sing praises to Your name.' "
Psalm 92:1-2 "It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night."
Psalm 100: "Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! Serve the Lord with gladness; Come before His presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are his people and the sheep of His pasture. Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name., For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations."
Psalm 102:12 "You, O Lord, shall endure forever, And the remembrance of Your name to all generations."
Psalm 104:24-25 "O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all, The earth is full of Your possessions---This great and wide sea, In which are innumerable teeming things, Living things both small and great."
Psalm 111:7-9 "The works of His hands are verity and justice; All His precepts are sure. They stand fast forever and ever, And are done in truth and uprightness. He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever; Holy and awesome is His name."
There are, of course, many more times in the Scripture that the authors gave praise to God. They understood, as should we, how exalted and excellent our loving Father's name is. Let us always remember to praise Him here on earth, so that one day we can praise Him face to face!
O Lord, how glorious and excellent is Your name in all the earth! Let us always remember what a loving, powerful, and righteous God You are, and to show that we remember. In Christ's most precious and holy name, Amen.
